Legacy Project

Sumner Regional Medical Tower & Renovation

HealthcareGallatin, Tennessee

Project Experience

Healthcare project experience where coordination, phasing, operational awareness, and schedule discipline are critical.

Building a major tower addition and extensive renovations at the very epicenter of an existing/operating hospital proved to be quite a challenge. The project, designed by Gresham Smith & Partners, included a new six-story 218,372 square feet tower addition including 72 new Patient Beds, a new Emergency Department, Admitting, PACU, 8 new Surgical Suites, new LDR wing, and Critical Care unit. Renovations included complete renovation of Obstetrics, new NICU unit and new Energy Plant. As the onsite Senior Project Manager for Robins & Morton, I led a team of ten during the construction and was directly responsible for the overall project success including Client Satisfaction, Budget, Schedule, Safety and Project Operations. The project construction cost was $56 million and was completed ahead of schedule and under budget. This project was awarded the ABC Award of Excellence by the Associated Building Contractors.
